One Act Play is one of the major foundations of educational theatre in Texas. The UIL One-Act Play contest is a competition where similarly sized schools present an 18-40 minute play usually adjudicated by a single judge. The contest is held on a single day and open to the public. Our students get the chance to participate in the entire process of producing a show, from auditions to performance! This includes acting, stage management, set design, costume design, and stage makeup. Through this experience, we hope to teach students the importance of teamwork, cooperation, and dedication.
